On November 24, 2022, NJPW announced that a second night of Wrestle Kingdom 17 would take place on January 21, 2023, at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan. It was later revealed that the event would feature wrestlers from NOAH.
Storylines[]
At Wrestle Kingdom 16 Night 3 on January 8, 2022, Los Ingobernables de Japón (BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, SANADA, Shingo Takagi, and Tetsuya Naito) defeated NOAH stable Kongo (Aleja, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Kenoh, Manabu Soya, and Tadasuke). On January 4, 2023, at Wrestle Kingdom 17, during backstage comments, Los Ingobernables de Japón were confronted by Kongo. The two groups then agreed to face off in a series of singles matches at Wrestle Kingdom 17 In Yokohama Arena.
