• August 7 - WWE Old School (Network) - MSG 8/7/76 - The Executioners (Executioner #1 & Executioner #2) (c) defeated Jose Gonzales & Dominic Denucci 2-1 in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match to retain The Executioners became the first team in history to be stripped of the World Tag Team Championship when they illegally used Executioner #3 during a match.
• December 7 - House Show Chief Jay Strongbow & Billy White Wolf won a three-team tournament to capture the World Tag Team Championship. The tournament also included The Executioners (Executioner #1 & Executioner #2) and Nikolai Volkoff & Tor Kamata. In August of 1977, Chief Jay Strongbow & Billy White Wolf would become the first team in history forced to vacate the World Tag Team Championship when Billy White Wolf suffered an injury
