Windy City Pro Wrestling formerly Windy City Wrestling was a professional wrestling promotion based out of Chicago, Illinois.
History[]
- Company was formed by AWA tag team wrestler Sam DeCero.
- Some of the notable talent to appear in WCPW: Eddie Gilbert, Paul E. Dangerously, Dick Murdoch, Dennis Condrey, John Nord, Steve Regal, Ken Patera, Christopher Daniels, Colt Cabana, King Kong Bundy, Greg Valentine, Rob Van Dam and Ivelisse Vélez.
- Windy City Wrestling was sued by World Championship Wrestling over trademark infringement pertaining to the WCW acronym in 1991. The case was settled out of court and Sam DeCero added Pro to the name to placate the management of World Championship Wrestling after a nine-month court case.
- The company closed in 2011 after being in business for 23 years.
