WWE Main Event

WWE Main Event is a professional wrestling television program for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) that currently airs exclusively on the International broadcast syndication, and Hulu Plus every Thursday nights. It debuted on October 3, 2012. Episodes are uploaded to the WWE Network 18 days after airing. The show is currently a sub-show of the Raw and 205 Live brands, and focuses on a highlights from Raw this past Monday, and SmackDown LIVE this past Tuesday.

The show shares some similarities with WWE Superstars as being a tertiary program.

Show history

On June 25, 2012, WWE and ION Television announced an agreement to create a new weekly, one-hour prime time series entitled WWE Main Event that debuted in October 2012.

Production/presentation

The show is presented from all broadcast syndication and Hulu Plus, prior to the Raw taping, after the cancellation of Superstars on November 28, 2016. WWE commentators Nigel McGuinness and Vic Joseph are the broadcast team, and Mike Rome is the ring announcer. It uses the same HD set and the all-white ring ropes as all other WWE programming (though for the month of October 2012 and October 2013, the middle rope was pink, to promote WWE and Susan G. Komen for the Cure's breast cancer awareness campaign). From October 3, 2012 to January 22, 2014, "Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)" by Shinedown served as the official theme for Main Event. Since January 29, 2014, "On My Own" by CFO$ now serves as the theme song.
