Victoria Tran[1] is an American Professional Wrestler, Published Model, and Death Metal Vocalist better known by the ring name Viva Van. She is best known for her work on the Independent Circuit, wrestling for promotions such as on All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Lucha Libre AAA, Impact Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, and PCW Ultra.

Viva Van is the first ever Female Professional Wrestler of Vietnamese-American descent. She appeared on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated series "Behind the Curtain" where she talks about how she raised money to fund the construction of a Wrestling Ring for the first and only Pro Wrestling School in Vietnam, Vietnam Pro Wrestling (VPW).[2][3][4]


Professional Wrestling Career

Training

Viva Van is trained by WWE Hall of Fame Inductee Rikishi and seasoned veteran Black Pearl of the Anoa'i family and Samoan Dynasty. On an interview with Cultaholic, Van talks about how a car accident lead to her being able to begin her wrestling training.[5]

Independent Circuit

Van made her debut into professional wrestling in 2018. Viva mostly wrestled around California and neighboring states such as Arizona, Nevada, Texas, etc. Since her debut Viva Van has worked for several promotions in the Independent Circuit, as well as made appearances on promotions like All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Lucha Libre AAA, Impact Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, PCW Ultra, and more.

Expo Lucha

Viva debuted for Expo Lucha in August of 2019. She tag teamed with current WWE Wrestlers Shotzi Blackheart and Taya Valkyrie and defeated Zeda Zhang, Simone Sherie, and Joey Ryan [6]

Mission Pro Wrestling

Van made her debut for Thunder Rosa's Mission Pro Wrestling on May of 2021 in a Triple Threat match against Masha Slamovich and Vipress (w). [7]

Future Stars of Wrestling (FSW)

Viva debuted on Future Stars of Wrestling FSWW PPV on April of 2021. Van wrestled against CMLL Veteran Estrellita and was defeated.[8]

Rise Wrestling

Van made her debut on Rise Wrestling on May 2019 for their program Luminous. Viva Van defeated wrestler Auntie Hydie in a Dark Match.[9]

Hoodslam: GLAM!

Viva Van has made several appearance on the bay area-based promotion Hoodslam. Her debut was on January of 2019 in a match against Lady K. Van returned on February of 2019 to face off against and defeat Heather Monroe. Following this victory Viva returned on March 8, 2019. Viva teamed up with Shakira Spears to face off against Trish Adora and Heather Monroe. Van returned in April of 2021 to compete in a triple threat match against Shakira Spears and the Great Bambina.. On May 10, 2019 Viva Van teamed up with Rob Hands to wrestle a handicap match against Da Squad and ultimately were defeated. June of 2019, Viva teamed up with WWE wrestler MVP to defeat avenge her loss against Da Squad. In 2020 GLAM! Announces the brand new Women's Championship tournament where contenders compete for the title. Viva Van makes it to the Semi-Final defeating both Gia Roman and Danika Della Rouge before subsequently losing to Lady K.

APW / GRPW: Young Lions Cup

The Young Lions Cup is a tournament that takes place on the West Coast promotion APW & GRPW where several up and coming wrestlers compete for the tournament trophy. Van competed for the 2019 Young Lions Cup. Viva Defeated Eliza Hammer and Grace Li with her tag team partner Aliyah Mia Sweets in the 1st round. Van then defeated Aliyah Mia Sweets in a singles match in the Semi Final. Viva went on to the final round to compete in a 4-Way Elimination match against AEW's Preston Vance; Number 10 of the Dark Order, Alpha Zo, and Titus alexander.[10]

Suburban Fight

Viva made her debut at Suburban Fight Wrestling on October of 2019. Van wrestled against undefeated Champion Tuna.[11]

All Elite Wrestling (AEW)

Viva Van made her debut for AEW Dark on July 6, 2021 in a match against Kris Statlander. The episode has generated several hundred thousand views. She is the first wrestler of Vietnamese descent to debut at the promotion.[12][13]

Lucha Libre AAA

Viva Van has made several appearance on the Mexican Powerhouse promotion Lucha Libre AAA. Her introduction in the company occurred in 2018 when she made her debut with Los Mercenarios. This faction consisted of Current WWE NXT Wrestler Santos Escobar and Mexican Luchador Mascara. The program was against Psycho Clown and Lady Shani. In May of 2019 Van was defeated in a 6-Man Tag Team Match with current WWE NXT Wrestler Jake Atlas, Lady Maravilla, and Kamik-C against Faby Apache, Fantastik, Heather Monroe, and Nino Hamburguesa. March 10, 2020 Viva and Mirage were victorious against Extassis and Juve Venegas.  On March 13, 2020 Van wrested in tag-team with Black Destiny, Fantastik, and Rayo Star against El Poder del Norte (Tito Santana, Carta Brava Jr., and Mocho Cota Jr.) on the AAA vs MLW show. The show was the start of more cross-promotion booking with Major League Wrestling. She is the first wrestler of Vietnamese descent to debut at the promotion. [14][15][16]

IMPACT! Wrestling

Van made her debut for Impact Wrestling on March 8th, 2019. Viva was defeated in a match against former Impact Knockout's Champion and powerhouse Jessicka Havok.[17]

Championship Wrestling from Hollywood (CWFH)

Viva Van has made several appearance on CWFH. Van made her debut on February of 2019. She wrestled with Heather Monroe in a match against Ayoka and Sarah Wolfe.. Van returned on December of 2019 to face off against NWA Wrestler Thunder Rosa where she was defeated in a singles match. Viva made two appearances in March of 2021 where she defeated Mylo Matters and had a Match against Heather Monroe ruled a No Contest. Van returned twice in April of 2021 to wrestle against CeCe Chanel and Heather Monroe. Van was victorious defeated CeCe. . Viva Van defeated CeCe Chanel and Heather Monroe in a triple threat match.. Viva Van returned on May 8, 2021 for Halston Boddy's Coastline Clash to wrestle against CeCe Channel. CeCe was defeated by Van. Viva wrestled again on June of 2021 for CWFH Episode 526 to wrestle with Bryn Thorne against Ruby Raze and CeCe Chanel. Raze and Chanel won the match.[18][19][20][21]

PCW Ultra

Viva Van wrestles within the faction "Warbeast" under the name Victorya Von at PCW. Warbeast is a faction consisting of several wrestlers within the wrestling industry such as Josef Samael, Jacob Fatu, and Kevin Sullivan. As a single's competitor Van challenged for the PCW Ultra Women's Championship against Ring of Honor's Sumie Sakai In 2019 Warbeast wrestled against the Lucha Bros (Penta & Fenix). Later that year Warbeast faced off against ''The Outlawz'' Eddie Kingston and Homicide.[22][23][24]
