Background[]
Impact Wrestling, then known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), produced the first Victory Road event on November 7, 2004. The event was then held annually between 2004 and 2012, with the exception of 2005. After TNA ceased most of their monthly pay-per-views in 2013, Victory Road returned on September 28, 2017 as a special episode of iMPACT! After an absence in 2018, Victory Road was revived again in 2019, returning to its status as an annual event.
On August 5, 2022, Impact Wrestling announced that the thirteenth Victory Road event would be held at the Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee on September 24, along with the Victory Road Fallout taping the following day.

After becoming the #1 Contender for the Impact World Championship, Honor No More leader Eddie Edwards attempted to persuade World Champion Josh Alexander to join Honor No More.
