Tuxtla Gutiérrez is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Chiapas. It is considered to be the state's most developed and important city and the financial center of the state. It has always been considered a strategic area in the state. Unlike many other areas of Chiapas, Tuxtla is not a tourist attraction, but a transportation hub for tourists coming into the state, with a major airport and bus station.
