Alexander Jones is an American professional wrestler best known for this time in WWE NXT under the ring name Troy McClain. After his time in WWE, he worked for Future Stars Of Wrestling.

Early life[]

In high school, McLain excelled in three different sports. He was also a NCAA Division 1 athlete. Before entering professional wrestling, McLain worked as a strength and conditioning coach.

Professional wrestling career[]

Early career[]

Jones debuted in wrestling on May 12, 2012 for Knokx Pro Wrestling Academy. Debuting as Zander Jones, he teamed with Maverick & Mayhem in a losing six-man tag team match against The Samoan Dynasty (J. Bleedah, Rikishi & Thamiko Fatu).

WWE (2012-2014)[]

Jones signed a developmental contract with the WWE in 2013, debuting on April 19 in WWE NXT. Working under his assigned ring name Troy McClain, he wrestled numerous singles and some tag team matches, mostly experiencing more losses than wins. He wrestled his last match on the September 13th edition of NXT, teaming with Elias Samson in a losing tag match against The Mechanics (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson).

On September 19, 2014, McClain was released from contract.

Independent circuit (2015)[]

McClain kept his WWE ring name and went on to work for Future Stars Of Wrestling. He made his debut at FSW Turning Point on April 25, 2015, losing to J-Cash. On June 5 at the FSW 6 Year Anniversary Show, McClain teamed with Tyler Cintron, losing to the tag team of Vegas Originals. McClain experienced his first successful FSW match on September 25 at FSW Paid In Full, as part of the team called The BFFs including Tyler Cintron and unnamed third teammate, in a winning tag team match against Dan Joseph, Looney Bin & Paddy O'Shea.
