TripleManía I (initially just referred to as just "TripleManía") was the first ever TripleManía wrestling show promoted by Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The show took place on April 30, 1993 in Mexico City, Mexico. The Main event featured a "Retirement" match where the storyline was that the person that lost would have to retire from professional wrestling. The match saw longtime rivals Konnan and Cien Caras face off.
Background[]
The event featured eight professional wrestling matches with different wrestlers involved in pre-existing scripted feuds, plots and storylines. Wrestlers were portrayed as either villains (referred to as rudos in Mexico) or fan favorites (técnicos in Mexico) as they followed a series of tension-building events, which culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.
