The Lucha Sisters were a babyface tag team of female professional wrestlers in the Shine Wrestling promotion. The team consists of Mia Yim and Leva Bates, and they were the first-ever SHINE Tag Team Champions.

History[]

At SHINE 17 on February 28, 2014, an eight-team tournament took place to crown the first ever SHINE Tag Team Champions, with Mia Yim and Leva Bates serving as one of the eight teams. In the quarterfinals, Mia and Leva, dubbed The Lucha Sisters, defeated The Kimber Bombs (Kimber Lee and Cherry Bomb). The duo would defeat The S-N-S Express (Sassy Stephie and Jessie Belle) in the semifinals, and went on to defeat Made In Sin (Allysin Kay and Taylor Made) in the finals to become the first ever SHINE Tag Team Champions. The Lucha Sisters successfully defended the titles for the first time against the Express at A Wrestling Odyssey on April 4. Two weeks later at SHINE 18, the Sisters retained the titles against Kellie Skater and Evie. The Sisters took part in a 10-woman elimination tag team match at SHINE 19, teaming with Jessicka Havok, Ivelisse, and Tracy Taylor in a losing effort to Valkyrie. During the match, Leva was eliminated by Allysin Kay and Mia was eliminated by Serena Deeb.

At SHINE 20 on June 27, the Sisters lost the SHINE Tag Team Championship to Legendary. At SHINE 21 on August 22, the Sisters were defeated by Legendary in a rematch, with the loss coming after Thunderkitty turned heel and struck Bates with one of the championship belts. The Sisters teamed with Kellie Skater in a losing effort against Valifornia in a six-woman tag team match. The duo has since competed in singles competition after Mia captured the SHINE Championship on November 16.

At SHINE 28 on July 24, 2015, Leva defeated Amber Gallows after Mia kept April Hunter from interfering. Later in the event, Mia was defeated by Allysin Kay after Leva's attempt to help Mia backfired. After the match ended, Mia blamed Leva for the loss and showed signs of a villainous turn by shoving Leva.
