The Dashing Ones was the the name of a SmackDown-based tag team. It was formed by former Legacy member and World Tag Team Champion, "Dashing" Cody Rhodes and former Intercontinental champion Drew McIntyre.
They qualified as #1 contender to the WWE World Tag Team Championship (after it had absorbed the World Tag Team Championship) tag team title by winning a non-title match on SmackDown against then-champions the Hart Dynasty.[1]. They successfully wrested the title from Dynasty at the Night of Champions pay-perview. They then successfully defended it after the Dynasty invoked a rematch clause.[2]
They later lost a match against then-WWE champion Randy Orton.[3]
Then they defeated the team of Kofi Kingston and Kaval.[4]
Both members were unable to join Team Smackdown for bragging rights. Drew and Cody lost to Kofi and Rey Mysterio respectively.[5]
They later lost their titles to Nexus members John Cena and David Otunga. After losing to Big Show and Kofi Kingston, TDO broke up.
They later lost a 3-way match for the number 1 contendership to the IC title when Drew was pinned by MVP. Cody and Drew were later participants in a 3-way number 1 contendership for the Heavyweight Championship (versus Big Show) but ultimately Cody was pinned by surprise 4th contestant Dolph Ziggler who outwitted him.
Cody and Drew later went on to pursue individual feuds against Rey Mysterio and Edge respectively.
