Team Uppercut is a professional wrestling tag team, consisting of Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson and David Taylor. They nearly won the King of Trios tournament together in 2009. The team's name is probably a reference to Claudio's usual technique of throwing his opponent into the air and uppercutting them.

Background[]
On June 28, 2008, Castagnoli scored one of his biggest victories in Ring of Honor. In their first ever meeting in the company, he pinned Bryan Danielson following an elevated European Uppercut.
Along with Bryan Danielson and ROH World Tag Team Champion Tyler Black he competed in a Four Man Elimination Match. He wound up being the first eliminated by Danielson and afterwards snapped and beat Danielson down setting him up to be eliminated by the eventual winner McGuinness.

Castagnoli entered CHIKARA King of Trios 2009, teaming with Bryan Danielson and Dave Taylor as Team Uppercut. In round one they defeated The Roughnecks, in round two they defeated The Masters of a Thousand Holds, in round 3 they defeated The UnStable but then lost in the final round to Team FIST.
Aftermath[]
Later after moving to the WWE, Bryan and Claudio (redubbed Daniel and Antonio) would both go on to win the WWE United States Championship. Daniel would also go on to win Money In The Bank, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE Tag Team Championship and the WWE Championship.
