Team Co-Bro[1] is a tag team that was recently defeated by Team Rhodes Scholars in the Tag Team Tournament.

Etymology
The team was initially called Maryder/Marryder/MaRyder/Ma-Ryder, a name Santino Marella chose for his tag team with Zack Ryder.
Zack Ryder disagreed about what to call it, suggesting instead Team Co-Bro (formerly stylized by fan as Cobro/CoBro).
Both stars' preferred names names are portmanteaus. The first of their surnames, Marrella and Ryder. The second of their favourite themes, Cobras and Bro(ski)s.
In 2012, the name "Team Co-Bro" was affirmed by Michael Cole to be the name the pair chose to go with on the October 8 Raw. Prior to that, the group's former argument about what to call themselves had largely been forgotten and they had just been referred to as Santino Marella and Zack Ryder or vice versa.
Background
Both having a background as heels, Santino was the first to turn face, and actually faced Zack as an opponent in 2010. On the July 19 Raw, Santino paired with Vladimir Kozlov to defeat Ryder & William Regal. Kozlov was generally Santino's partner for a long while until leaving in 2011.
On Oct 11, Santino then defeated Zack Ryder to become a member of Raw's Bragging Rights 2010 team.
Both have become friendly joking face characters over time. They both sequentially feuded with members of American Perfection over the United States Championship. Zack won it from Dolph Ziggler, then Jack Swagger won it from Zack, then Santino won it from Jack, and finally, Santino lost it to Antonio Cesaro.
History
2011
Santino and Zack actually began teaming together prior to Santino losing the championship.
He then began teaming with Zack Ryder, beginning on the July 21, 2011 episode of WWE Superstars Santino teamed with Ryder in a winning effort against the WWE tag team champions David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty.
On the Aug 1, 2011 Raw they once again faced Otunga and McGillicutty but lost.
2012
Both were members of Team Teddy at the 2012 WrestleMania.
At Money in the Bank 2012 they had a back-stage segment with Damien Sandow.
Future
As part of the Tag Team Tournament, they will be facing Tyson & Justin to determine who will go forward to face Team Rhodes Scholars. The winner of that match will go on to face the victor of Exciting Tandem versus Kofi & Truth.
