Tlcmatch

TLC Match

A Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match is a type of wrestling match in World Wrestling Entertainment, but can be seen in different variations in other companies. The object of the match is usually to retrieve something hanging above the ring via ladder. The first competitor or team to retrieve the object wins the match. The competitors can also use steel chairs and wooden tables to their advantage. There are no disqualifications in the match, and putting an opponent through a table does not end the match, unlike a Table match.

World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment

At No Mercy 1999, Edge & Christian battled the Hardy Boyz in a Ladder match, with the first team to retrieve the contract of Terri Runnels would win her services. All four men ended up recieving standing ovations for their efforts. The month after that the Hardy Boyz faced the Dudley Boyz in a Tables Match, where again, the two teams recieved a standing ovation. All three of the teams had signature weapons, the Dudley Boyz having tables, Edge & Christian with chairs to deliver their Con-chair-to, and the Hardy Boyz having ladders. At WrestleMania 2000, all three teams were brought together (along with their signature weapons) in a brutal match. However, it was not officially billed as a TLC match, it was billed as a Triangle Ladder Match. The first official TLC match was actually held at SummerSlam 2000. Thus far, there have been seven official TLC matches, the most recent involving one of its founders, Edge, banishing the Undertaker from the WWE and winning the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.

Total Nonstop Action

TNA calls their version of the TLC match Full Metal Mayhem. The first of these matches in TNA was Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss at Against All Odds 2005, and TNA also added the rule that anything metal was legal.

Extreme Championship Wrestling

ECW used the match with the added weapon, the Singapore Cane. One of the classic matches was Sandman vs. Steve Corino vs. Justin Credible at the Hammerstein Ballroom in 2001.

Wrestling Society X

WSX created a variation called Tables, Ladders, and Cervesaz (or beer) where the match was won with a pinfall or a submission. The match debuted on February 13th, 2007.
