Stephan Bonnar (April 4, 1977 - December 22, 2022) was an American mixed martial artist and professional wrestler. In Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) he is a UFC Hall of Famer.
Mixed martial arts career[]
Bonnar began fighting as early as 2001. He went on to make his debut in Ultimate Fighting Championshp as early as October 2004, winning both his two exhibition fights. He lost his first UFC fight the following year in April 2005, by decision. After eight years, Bonnar retired from UFC after losing his final fight against Anderson Silva. Two years later, Bonnar returned to the octagon on November 15, 2014, headlining Bellator 131, where he was defeated by Tito Ortiz. This was Bonnar's final fight. In his career, Bonnar compiled a win-loss record of 15-9, winning a large percentage of his fights by submissions.

After his retirement from professional fighting, Bonnar made a transition into professional wrestling.
Impact Wrestling (2017, 2019)[]
Bonnar debuted in 2017 at Bound for Glory XIII where he teamed with Moose in a losing effort against Lashley and King Mo in a Six Sides of Steel tag team match. Bonnar returned two years later in 2019 at Victory Road, where he lost a match to Moose. He returned on the October 11 episode of iMPACT!, where he lost a rematch to Moose.
Personal life[]
After headlining UFC 153 on October 13, 2012 in the main event against Anderson Silva to whom Bonnar lost, Bonnar failed a post-match drug screening. The results revealed Bonnar tested positive for steroids. After this, Bonnar retired from UFC.
On October 28, 2018, Bonnar was arrested in Las Vegas for driving under the influence. After resisting arrest, Bonnar was held on a $22,000 bond.
