South Australia (abbreviated as SA) is a state that occupies the south central part of Australia. It is the fortth largest state in Australia, bordering all other mainland states. South Australia's capital city is Adelaide, which is the nation's fith most populous city behind Sydney. Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. In June 2020, the estimated population of South Australia was 1,769,319. 77 percent of the state's population lives in the Adelaide area.
The British Province of South Australia, was founded in 1835 by the South Australian Company. The purpose was to make a free settlement area for people of all religious ideologies and liberties and not just those of a penal colony as seen in other states.
