Brian Stephen Howser (February 8, 1975-August 18, 1998) was an American professional wrestler best known for wrestling in Maryland Championship Wrestling. In the promotion, he was the first and only wrestler to win the Light Heavyweight Championship and was nicknamed "The Lifetime MCW Light Heavyweight Champion" in tribute to his death. Each year, the Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup in held as a to tribute him. Despite sharing an in-ring last name, he is not related to Ken Shamrock (whose real name is Kenneth Wayne Kilpatrick).

Career[]

Howser had wrestled in a couple of independent promotion including Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation, but is likely best known for his time in Maryland Championship Wrestling. During his time in MCW, he won the Light Heavyweight Championship in a 6-way match on July 19, 1998.

Death[]

His death appeared that he was shot and killed during an altercation with police officers in 1998. At the time, he was still the reigning Light Heavyweight Champion and after his death, he was named "The Lifetime MCW Light Heavyweight Champion". The Light Heavyweight Championship was ultimately retired on September 20, 1998 and was replaced by the Cruiserweight Championship.
