The September 26, 2006 Edition of ECW is a Professional wrestling television show of the WWE's ECW brand, took place on September 26, 2006.

Results

Rob Van Dam pinned Hardcore Holly in an extreme rules match with the Five Star Frog Splash at 17:42; after the bout, Holly was attended to in the ring by a medic and trainer and had his ribs up; moments later, Holly received a strong ovation from the crowd for his effort (ECW: Extreme Rules)

Ariel (w/ Kevin Thorn) fought Francine to a no contest in an extreme catfight at around the 1-minute mark when Thorn pulled Francine off Ariel, with Balls Mahoney then appearing and knocking Thorn out of the ring with a steel chair

ECW World Champion the Big Show pinned the Sandman at around the 7-minute mark with the Show Stopper after Matt Striker came ringside and stole away the challenger's Singapore cane; pre-match stipulations stated the Sandman's cane could be legally used in the match; during the contest, it was announced Hardcore Holly received 24 stitches in his back following a suplex to the floor in the earlier match against RVD (the bout began during the commercial break)

Other Segments

Featured an opening in-ring segment in which Jim Ross addressed the Oklahoma crowd and compared ECW to the Mid-South Wrestling of 20 years ago.

Moments later, Matt Striker interrupted and said JR was blue collar just like everyone in the crowd and the Sandman; the Sandman then appeared with his Singapore cane and, after JR refused to help Striker, Sandman assaulted Striker with the cane before handing it to JR and letting him get a shot in as well.
JR and Sandman then shared a beer with JR grabbing the mic and saying Sandman would be the new ECW World Champion.

Included the announcement that an Extreme Strip Poker segment with all the Raw, Smackdown!, and ECW divas would be held in 2 weeks. *Featured a backstage promo by Hardcore Holly regarding his match later in the show against Rob Van Dam.
Included a backstage promo by CM Punk in which he said he wanted Rob Van Dam, Sabu, and the Sandman before he was interrupted by Kelly Kelly.

Moments later, Mike Knox confronted Punk for talking to Kelly.

Featured a look at Kelly Carlson's role in "The Marine;"
Included a vignette on the Sandman to promote his world title shot later in the show.

Featured a backstage promo by Rene Dupree.
