September 10, 1988 WWF Superstars of Wrestling

The September 10, 1988 Edition of WWF Superstars of Wrestling is a Professional wrestling television show of World Wrestling Federation, which took place on August 23, 1988 at the Providence Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) defeated Tommy Angel (1:32)
- During the match, a promo with Jake Roberts was shown, with Roberts telling Rude not to wear tights with his wife Cheryl's face on them again (as he had done at a previous television taping), warning that if he (Rude) did, he (Roberts) would come to the ring to tear them off. After the match, Rude removed his outer tights to reveal a second pair with Cheryl's face on them. Roberts made good on his threat, running to ringside, beating down Rude before tearing off the tights. Rude fled the ring, with a 'censor' sign appearing over Rude's crotch area. (In the arena, Rude was wearing a flesh-colored thong, but to the television audience the editing gave the impression he was stripped nude.)
