Saturday Night's Main Event XVII was an event produced the World Wrestling Federation which took place on October 29, 1988 (taped October 25, 1988) at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

- Jake Roberts (w/ his wife Cheryl Roberts) defeated Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
- Rude was disqualified when Bobby Heenan prevented the pinfall after Roberts hit the DDT and started ripping off Rude's tights, which again featured Cheryl Roberts face on the back.
- After the match, Andre came down to the ring to assist Heenan and threw Roberts out of the ring.
- As Heenan and Andre were checking on Rude, Roberts retrieved his snake Damien from his bag and showed it to André who became frightened.
- Demolition (Ax & Smash) (w/ Mr. Fuji & Jimmy Hart) defeated The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
- Smash defeated Neidhart by hitting him with Jimmy Hart's megaphone when Neidhart grabbed for Raymond Rougeau on the ring apron moments after The Fabulous Rougeaus came ringside.
- Hulk Hogan (w/ Miss Elizabeth) defeated King Haku (w/Bobby Heenan)
- Hogan defeated Haku with the leg drop.
- Heenan was helped backstage during the match after Hogan had pulled him in front of him when Haku was jumping from the apron.
- Dino Bravo (w/ Frenchy Martin) defeated Ken Patera.
- Bravo defeated Patera with the side suplex.
- The Big Boss Man (w/ Slick) defeated Jim Powers
- Boss Man defeated Powers with the sidewalk slam.
