Santa Paula is a city in Ventura County, California, United States. It is located in the middle of citrus orchards and itself to tourists as the "Citrus Capital of the World". Ontop of the citrus production the city of Santa Paula was also one of the early centers of California's petroleum industry. The Union Oil Company Building, the founding headquarters of the Union Oil Company of California in 1890.
The city has been devastated multiple times in its history. The first came in 1862 when a deluge of rain fell causing the local dams to fail, flooding the city. 150 years later a dam failure caused by vacuum truck explosion also deeply impacted the city. A couple of years later the Thomas wildfires of 2017 hit leaving very little behind.
