Chris Hero the began beating up Bobby Dempsey, saying that since he made Nigel McGuinness tap out the night before, he should be the number one contender for the ROH World Championship instead of Austin Aries. Hero then said that Aries was the second worst ROH World Champion in history behind Xavier, bring out Aries from the back. Larry Sweeney challenged Aries to face Hero in a match with the stipulation that if Hero wins, he becomes the number one contender. Aries said he would agree to the match only if when he wins, Sweeney has to face Claudio Castagnoli at Final Battle 2007, to which Sweeney agreed.
