Pro Wrestling America is a professional wrestling promotion based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
PWA was founded by former AWA referee and wrestler Eddie Sharkey.
History[]
- Talent that emerged from the PWA included X-Pac, Jerry Lynn, Ricky Rice, Maximum Overdrive, JW Storm, Teijho Khan, Derrick Dukes, The Terminators. Savannah Jack and Miss Natural.
- PWA title holders included: Ricky Rice, Jerry Lynn, Lightning Kid, Maximum Overdrive, Slick Steenerson (Middleweight champion), Mad Dog Vachon (first Heavyweight Champion), Steiner Brothers, Top Guns, Ken Patera, Baron Von Raschke, AAU wrestler Randy Gusto, Sam Houston and Tommy Ferrara.
- The PWA continues to promote shows in Minnesota after 30+ years.
Television[]
- "Pro Wrestling America from Fridley" was taped in front of a live audience at George's (later Roper's) Nightclub in Fridley, Minnesota and went to air on cable access in the Twin Cities area on Minnesota.
