Prestatyn is a seaside town and community in Denbighshire, Wales, located on the Irish sea. It has been a community for people dating back to prehistory era, later a Roman settlement and bathhouse. It's name and true identity came in the medieval era where in the Doomsday book it was first listed as Prestatyn deriving from the Old English preosta ("priest") and tun ("town").
Modern day it serves as a resort town due to its location on the coast. This resort status started to come into fashion during the Victorian Era when people were desperately seeking to escape the often over polluted cities which were abundant during that time. However it has started to wane, causing the town to look to other industries to further diversify their income stream.
