Penny Mitchell is a American Professional wrestler.


A Fabulous Moolah trainee who later became assistant trainer at Camp Moolah. Penny's crowning achievement was winning the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship with Velvet McIntyre. The titles were abandoned in February of 1984 when Mitchell and McIntyre worked exclusively for the WWF.

Penny Mitchell was the original Spider Lady, before the mask was switched to The Fabulous Moolah for the infamous match with Wendi Richter at Madison Square Garden in November of 1985.

Mitchell tagged with various partners before settling with rookie Candice Pardue and they unsuccessfully challenged the Glamour Girls for the WWF women's tag team titles.

Central States Wrestling

After brief stops in Jim Crockett Promotions and Continental Championship Wrestling, Penny returned to her home area and engaged in a 18-month feud with Despina Montagas and later Rip Rogers and Brenda Britton.


Penny also made appearances for Women's Pro Wrestling and Ladies Major League Wrestling as one half of the Mystics tag team.

Penny Mitchell retired in 1993.
