NXT Deadline 2022 was a professional wrestling event produced by American promotion WWE for their NXT brand. The event took place on December 10, 2022 at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. It replaced the NXT WarGames event and featured the debut of the Iron Survivor Challenge. The event was broadcast on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network internationally.

During a media conference on October 21, 2022, Shawn Michaels announced that NXT Deadline would take place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on December 10, the same day as Ring of Honor event Final Battle. As a result, Deadline replaced NXT WarGames due to the WarGames match being moved to the main roster at Survivor Series.
Storylines[]
On the November 15, 2022 episode of NXT, Isla Dawn debuted, preventing Alba Fyre from winning the NXT Women's Championship. On the December 6 episode of NXT, it was confirmed that Fyre would face Dawn at Deadline.
On the November 15, 2022 episode of NXT, Shawn Michaels announced that a new match type dubbed the Iron Survivor Challenge would take place at Deadline. Michaels further announced that both a men's and women's Iron Survivor Challenge would take place, explaining that the rules are as follows:
- Five wrestlers will compete in the match. Two wrestlers will begin the match, with a new competitor entering every five minutes.
- A point is awarded each time a competitor scores a fall. Falls are won by pinfall, submission or disqualification.
- The wrestler who loses the fall will be placed into a penalty box for 90 seconds. Following the 90 seconds, the wrestler may re-enter the match.
- At the conclusion of 25 minutes, the wrestler with the most falls wins the match and becomes the number one contender for the NXT Championship or NXT Women's Championship.
Two weeks later, the first four competitors for the Iron Survivor Challenge matches were announced. Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, JD McDonagh, and Joe Gacy were announced for the men's match, while Cora Jade, Kiana James, Roxanne Perez, and Zoey Stark were announced for the women's match. On the December 6 episode of NXT, two Triple Threat Matches took place to determine the final participants. Axiom defeated Andre Chase and Von Wagner to qualify for the men's Iron Survivor Challenge, while Indi Hartwell defeated Fallon Henley and Wendy Choo to qualify for the women's Iron Survivor Challenge.
On the December 6, 2022 episode of NXT, NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) told a Christmas story, taunting other tag teams in the process. However, they were interrupted by SmackDown tag team The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods). The New Day challenged the champions to a match before a brawl broke out. Later that night, it was announced that Pretty Deadly would defend the NXT Tag Team Championship against The New Day at Deadline.
On the November 15, 2022 episode of NXT, Apollo Crews approached NXT Champion Bron Breakker, stating that his main goal was to take the title. Later that night, following Crews' victory over JD McDonagh, Breakker appeared. The following week, it was confirmed that Crews would challenge Breakker for the NXT Championship at Deadline.
