The NWA World Television Championship is a championship of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). It is most often defended on television, hence the name.
The NWA World Television Championship started out as the NWA Mid-Atlantic Television Championship in 1974. In 1978, the name was changed to NWA Television Championship. In 1985, it became the NWA World Television Championship. There was also an NWA National Television Championship that was called the NWA World Television Title from 1983 to 1985, but it was abandoned in 1985 shortly before Dusty Rhodes beat NWA Television Champion Tully Blanchard for the title. Immediately after the title switch, the title was renamed the NWA World Television Championship.
In December 2019 the NWA announced they would bring back the NWA World Television championship.
