The NWA Iowa Heavyweight Championship was the National Wrestling Alliance's state championship for Iowa.
History[]
The Iowa Heavyweight Championship was initially created in 1903. When the National Wrestling Alliance was formed it became recognized as the NWA Iowa Heavyweight Championship. It was defended in the state until it was retired in 1962. In 2004, the new NWA No Limits promotion, a member of the NWA Midwest organization, revived the championship. It was again defended in and around the state of Iowa until NWA No Limits ceased to exist in 2009.
