NWA-Vendetta Pro Western States Heavyweight Championship

The NWA Western States Heavyweight Championship (Santa Maria version, or NWA/Vendetta Pro Western States Heavyweight Championship) was a professional wrestling title contested primarily in the American professional wrestling promotion Vendetta Pro Wrestling.

The title was introduced on July 15, 2014 when Vendetta Pro Wrestling joined the National Wrestling Alliance, and the first champion was crowned on January 17, 2015 at a tournament held as part of Vendetta Pro Wrestling's annual "Reflexion" event in Santa Maria, California.

From the outset, Vendetta Pro has stated that this is a new championship being introduced into the NWA, which will serve as a spiritual successor to the previous versions, including the Arizona, Amarillo and Heritage (and not at all related to the NWA Heritage Championship) versions. However, all previous holders of those versions will be given recognition as Western States Heavyweight Champions.

The title belt's physical appearance is identical to that previously used for the NWA Western States Heritage Championship.

The first champion was "Loverboy" Matt Riviera, who won a one-night, eight-man, single elimination tournament. He defeated Americos in the first round, "Wrestling Personified" Rik Luxury in the Semi-Final, and Brian Kendrick in the Tournament Final. Also involved in the tournament were "The Rock of Love" Billy Blade (eliminated First Round by Rik Luxury), "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters (eliminated First Round by Jody Kristofferson), Ricardo Rodriguez (eliminated First Round by Brian Kendrick), and "War Pig" Jody Kristofferson (eliminated Semi-Final by Brian Kendrick).

On May 15, 2015 at Vendetta Pro's "Melee Tour 2015" event in King City, California, Riviera lost the title to Jeff Jarrett. However, he reclaimed the title in a rematch two days later on May 17, 2015 at the "Melee Tour 2015" event in Chowchilla, California.
