The NJPW WORLD Television Championship is a championship in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).
History[]
On October 10, 2022 during the Declaration of Power event New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) announced the creation of the NJPW WORLD Television Championship. The name derives from NJPW's subscription service New Japan Pro Wrestling World. NJPW announced that there would be a tournament to crown the first champion with the finals being held at Wrestle Kingdom 17, which saw Zack Sabre Jr. defeat Ren Narita to become the inaugural champion. Match rules for championship matches are a 15 minute time limit with the focus being on high-paced matches and young talent.
