The G1 Climax 1996 was a professional wrestling tournament produced by New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) that took place from August 2 to August 6, 1996. It was the twenty second edition of the G1 Climax.
Tournament Summary[]
Ten wrestlers entered into the tournament, competing in two round robin blocks. The winner of each block advanced to the final, where Riki Choshu defeated Masahiro Chono to win the tournament. During the tournament, Junji Hirata suffered an injury, forcing him to forfeit the rest of his matches.
