Michael "Mike" Sparks (January 30, 1973) is a former referee for World Wrestling Entertainment. During late 2002, Sparks became an exclusive Smackdown referee. He is a second-generation referee as his father, Dave Hebner was also a referee in WWE back when it was still known as the WWF.
Career[]
Sparks was trained in wrestling officiating by veteran referee Earl Hebner. He went on to begin refereeing matches for World Wrestling Entertainment between 1998-1999. Starting out first on WWE Monday Night Raw, Sparks later on in the year 2002, became part of the Smackdown staff of referees. Sparks spent the duration of his on-screen match refereeing from 2002 until 2004 when he apparently retired or was released from the company.
Personal life[]
Sparks comes from a family of referees. His father Dave Hebner was a long-time referee along with near-twin brother Earl Hebner. Sparks is the nephew of Earl and therefore cousin of fellow referee Brian Hebner. Mike spent close to six years as a second-generation referee for WWE.
