Summary[]
MVP welcomed the red brand’s Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match entrants to his “VIP Lounge” days before the battle at WWE Global Headquarters. After Jax’s ladder attack last week, Asuka and Shayna Baszler turned the tables on The Irresistible Force, teaming up to knock Jax out of the ring and let her know that claiming the Money in the Bank Contract will not be a walk in the park.
As the Last Chance Gauntlet Match kicked off, it looked as though Bobby Lashley would handily punch his ticket to WWE Global Headquarters, as The All Mighty handily dispatched Titus O’Neil, Akira Tozawa and Shelton Benjamin. However, Lashley unintentionally got himself disqualified against Humberto Carrillo, ending his hopes of claiming the Money in the Bank contract.
Carrillo fared well after Lashley continued to attack him, going on to eliminate Angel Garza and Austin Theory. However, Carrillo’s final hurdle was the returning Styles, who looked confident as ever, despite last being seen getting buried by The Undertaker in the Boneyard Match at WrestleMania. Styles showed he hadn’t lost a step, as he defeated Carrillo, then declared that the next Mr. Money in the Bank would be phenomenal.
In a sit-down interview with Charly Caruso, The Monday Night Messiah insinuated that Drew McIntyre was not fit to be the standard-bearer of WWE, before promising to stomp away the WWE Champion’s burden this Sunday.
Apparently, having MVP’s endorsement was just what Shane Thorne & Brendan Vink needed. The Australian duo pulled off an upset victory after Vink leveled Ricochet with a big boot to the face.
Despite Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins’ best efforts, Erik & Ivar continued their dominance over the Raw Tag Team Champions, defeating The Street Profits in a non-title bout with the Viking Experience.
While Charlotte Flair may have been focused on her NXT Women’s Title defense against Io Shirai this Wednesday on USA Network, Liv Morgan was out to make a name for herself when she called out The Queen. However, despite a spirited performance from Morgan, Flair defeated the fiery upstart with the Figure Eight.
Though Murphy was out to show just what he has learned from Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre had other plans. In response to Rollins’ heated words earlier in the night, the WWE Champion put The Monday Night Messiah’s disciple down for the three-count with a devastating Claymore. Seth Rollins ambushed McIntyre after the match, but The Monday Night Messiah escaped before the WWE Champion could connect with a Claymore.
