AAA Lucha Underground (originally Lucha: Uprising) is a professional wrestling based television series produced by One Three Media. The weekly television series is set to air on the El Rey network, featuring professional wrestlers from Mexican wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) as well as the American independent circuit.
History
On January 12, 2014, it was announced that, with the backing of Mark Burnett, AAA would begin airing a show on American network El Rey on the second half of the year. The one-hour weekly program would be accompanied by monthly and quarterly specials as well as live pay-per-views. On October 5, 2014, Prince Puma crowned as the first Lucha Underground Champion.
The series is set to premiere October 29, 2014 on El Rey Network and air Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET.
