Lucha Libre USA (LLUSA) was an American professional wrestling promotion. It was created in 2009 and aired on MTV2. The company was active in the integrated-media industry, broadcasting its events on television and the Internet. Lucha Libre USA's mission was to introduce Americans to the phenomenon that is Mexican wrestling Lucha Libre. In June 2009 a one-hour syndicated series Luchamania was launched on regional Hispanic U.S. broadcasters.

Behind the Mask[]

Behind the Mask was a documentary feature broadcast on MTV2 and the MTV website. The show follows wrestlers originating from Mexico, the United States and other parts of the world, as they perform physical acts and background stories. Images of traditional, non-masked American professional wrestlers, like luchadore técnicos Marco Corleone, are shown entering the lucha libre arenas for staged confrontation. Commentary in the program stated that rudo luchadore RJ Brewer, in his on-screen persona, wishes to "Americanize" the sport by "cleaning up the Mexican elements" of Lucha Libre USA.

Apart from their television tapings at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Albuqurque, NM., a venue dubbed "Casa de Lucha", Lucha Libre USA ran house shows in arenas throughout the United States.
