Katsuhisa Shibata (December 4, 1943 – January 16, 2010) was a Japanese former sumo wrestler, professional wrestler and referee. His professional wrestling career lasted 11 years, beginning in 1966 and ending in 1977. Since retiring from wrestling, Shibata went on to work as a referee for 32 years from 1977 until 2009. He died the following year in January of 2010. Shibata is survived by his son Katsuyori who was also a wrestler.
