Joshua Towns (born 1991) is a Canadian professional wrestler under the ring name Johnny Wave. His gimmick is a surfer-type wrestler. He works regularly for promotions including Magnificent Championship Wrestling where he became the MCW Heavyweight Champion for the first time.

Career[]

Towns trained at the Canadian-based wrestling school Figure 4 Wrestling University. He completed his training and began wrestling in 2008. His first major, officially-recorded match was for Great Canadian Wrestling on May 23, 2009 debuting under his ring name Johnny Wave. From there, Towns went on to wrestling throughout the Canadian independent circuit. He wrestled his first match in the United States for Real Championship Wrestling in Maryland. Towns resumed his work on the Canadian promotions with work for various promotions including Capital City Championship Combat, Alpha-1 Wrestling and Magnificent Championship Wrestling. He won his first championship in MCW, at the MCW Rags To Riches Rumble on December 4, 2011 for the vacant MCW Heavyweight title. The following year, Towns won his second championship while working for Busted Knuckle Pro Wrestling, winning the vacant BKPW Championship when he defeated Turk Celik on December 8, 2012. Towns has worked also for Pure Wrestling Association and Pro Wrestling Battle Arts.

Towns cites his wrestling inspirations to include The Rock, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, TJ Perkins, and William Regal.
