Joseph Edgar Blanchard (December 7, 1928 – March 22, 2012) was an American football player, professional wrestler and promoter.
Early life[]
Blanchard played three seasons for the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League.
Career[]
Blanchard was the founder and owner of Southwest Championship Wrestling.
Personal life[]
Blanchard's son is former Four Horsemen wrestler Tully Blanchard and his granddaughter is Tessa Blanchard. Blanchard was the trainer of wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes.
Death[]
Blanchard died of squamous-cell carcinoma on March 22, 2012. He was 83.
