Jesse was trained by his family, who are well experienced in professional wrestling. He credits a significant amount of his wrestling training to Bob Keller. Jesse went on to debut in 2008 for an event held by Old School Championship Wrestling in South Carolina.

Personal life

Jesse is part of a long extensive wrestling clan. His father Barry Windham and his uncle Kendall Windham are both second generation wrestlers. Jesse's grandfather is Robert Windham, better known as Blackjack Mulligan. Jesse's aunt is named Stephanie Windham who is married to former wrestler Mike Rotunda. This makes Jesse a cousin of Rotunda's sons Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) & Taylor Rotunda (Bo Dallas), both whom currently wrestle for WWE.
