On July 11, 2025 during SmackDown Jelly Roll began a special performance inside the ring but was interrupted by Logan Paul. Paul claimed outsider's like Jelly Roll did not belong in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) since Jelly Roll was not a professional wrestler, among other reasons. As Jelly Roll and Paul argued Randy Orton came down to the ring and told Paul he was everything he had accused Jelly Roll of being but Orton was then attacked by Drew McIntyre. As McIntyre was being led away by security Paul attacked Orton leading to Jelly Roll throwing Paul off of Orton. Paul then angrily destroyed Jelly Roll's back up band's instruments and speakers. The next night on Saturday Night's Main Event after Orton defeated McIntyre in a Singles match Paul again attacked Orton and again Jelly Roll saved Orton. This time as Jelly Roll was checking on Orton, McIntyre hit Jelly Roll with a Claymore Kick. As a result, a Tag Team match was made for SummerSlam where Jelly Roll & Orton would face Paul & McIntyre.
