Jason Calabrese is an American professional wrestler working by the ring name Jason Static. He is mostly an independent wrestler, however Static has wrestled for promotions such as TNA and WWE. Static wrestles frequently for independent promotions throughout the northeastern region of the United States. Other independent and/or notable promotions Static has wrestled for include the Long Island Wrestling Federation (LIWF), Jersey Championship Wrestling (JCW), USA Xtreme Wrestling, New England Championship Wrestling (NECW) and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).
Early life[]
Before becoming a professional wrestler, Static competed in bodybuilding for ten years. He placed among the top five of six shows he appeared in as part of the International Natural Bodybuilding Federation. With this experience, he worked also as a personal fitness trainer.
Professional wrestling career[]
As a Brooklyn, New York native, Static trained at Long Island Wrestling Federation (LIWF) Doghouse in Queens. He made his debut in February 2002 in LIWF, winning by disqualification against opponent Justin Cage. In the ring, Static appears to portray an arrogant, muscle-bound heel as he professes to be "The Best Body in the Business". During the course of his career, Static has held both singles and tag team titles in several different promotions. During the months of August and September 2012, Static was involved in tag team championship matches while competing for Florida Underground Wrestling (FUW). Forming the team known as The Fuggedaboudits, Static won the FUW Tag Team Championship on August 21, from the tag team known as 1st Degree (D'Lo Jordan and Wayne Wonder). They loss the titles on September 8 to The James Boys (Luke James and Rich James). He last wrestled on September 22 for Victory Pro Wrestling for the VPW New York State title, losing to Kevin Fulton.
