Impact Pro Wrestling (IPW) is an Australian professional wrestling promotion. It has promoted regular events throughout south-east Queensland since its opening in 2007.
History[]
IPW opened originally in the early 2000s as a new version of World Championship Wrestling Australia. It was at that time the only promotion in Queensland and promoted shows in Brisbane. The promotion met with success with an annual event called Major Impact and this led to a name change to Major Impact Wrestling. The promotion made the slow move from Brisbane to the Gold Coast and in 2007 entered into a formal arrangement with New Zealand's Impact Pro Wrestling. This was after several visits from the Kiwis to MIW, and the name was changed to reflect this arrangement.
