Iizuka is a city in the central part of the Fukuoka Prefecture of Japan. It islocated at the confluence of the Honami and Onga rivers. The city was founded on January 20, 1932 as a major coal mining town. As the coal mining industry dried up the town switched to light industrial manufacturing.
