Hope And Change is an independent tag team working mostly in Absolute Intense Wrestling.
History[]
During AIW Hell On Earth 8 both Gregory Iron and Veda Scott came out and stopped the show to protest their lack of title shots, meaning the AIW Absolute Championship and AIW Women's Championship respectively. Owner John Thorne came out and was annoyed at the disruption but told them they would get a title shot and introduced AIW Tag Team Champions The Batiri as their opponents. They won the match and the title and began to team regularly as Hope And Change, playing on then-President Barack Obama's political slogan.
During their reign if Iron was pinned, he had a 4-count to break the pinfall attempt. This was a kayfabe fairness compensation Iron had negotiated to compensate for his cerebral palsy induced withered right arm.
Hope And Change managed 5 title defenses, usually only learning of their opponent the night of the show. They defeated The Jollyville F**k-Its, Youthanazia, The Old School Express, and The Batiri, before losing the titles back to the Batiri at AIW Absolution VIII when the Batiri put their AIW careers on the line.
After they lost the title, they reunited for one more time to take part in the AIW Double Dare Tag Team Tournament where they lost in the first round to The Hooligans. Later in 2016 they reunited again at AIW JT Lightning Memorial Tournament 2016 - Night 2 in a losing effort against Candice LeRae & Johnny Gargano.
Iron & Scott also teamed a few times in Alpha-1 Wrestling, Mega Championship Wrestling, and AAW: Professional Wrestling Redefined but it was not under the Hope And Change name.
