The High Speed Championship is a women's professional wrestling championship currently owned and promoted by World Wonder Ring Stardom (Stardom). The title, which was established on May 5, 2009, was formerly promoted by NEO Japan Ladies Pro Wrestling until 2010, when Stardom obtained the rights for the championship due to NEO closing. The intended holders of the championship are competitors that are fast and high-flying.
History[]
On May 5, 2009, the NEO High Speed Championship was introduced to NEO Japan Ladies Pro Wrestling, with Natsuki Taiyo becoming the inaugural champion after defeating Ray. In 2010, NEO Japan Ladies Pro Wrestling announced that it was closing down, which resulted in Stardom obtaining the rights to the High Speed Championship. On July 24, 2011, Taiyo defeated Leon to officially bring the championship over to Stardom. The title was subsequently renamed to High Speed Championship.
