Hell in a Cell 2020 is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view and WWE Network event produced by WWE for their Raw and SmackDown brands. It will take place on October 25, 2020 at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. It will be the 1th event under the Hell in a Cell chronology.

Storylines

The show will include matches resulting from scripted storylines, where wrestlers portray heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Results are predetermined by WWE's writers on the Raw and SmackDown brands, while storylines are produced on WWE's weekly television shows, Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live.

At Clash of Champions, Roman Reigns defeated Jey Uso to retain the Universal Championship after Jey's brother Jimmy Uso threw the towel into the ring to stop Reigns from repeatedly assaulting Jey for forcing him to acknowledge Reigns as the tribal chief of the Anoa'i family. Jimmy accepted Reigns as the tribal chief after the match. On the October 2 episode of SmackDown, Reigns complained about Jey not acknowledging him as the tribal chief during the celebration ceremony of Reigns becoming the tribal chief and Reigns called out Uso for a confrontation. Reigns then gave Uso, another title shot in a Hell in a Cell match at Hell in a Cell and added that stakes would be higher and Uso agreed, which was made official the following day.
