Tomoyuki Oka (June 12, 1991) is a Japanese professional wrestler. He is currently signed to New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), where he is known under the ring name Great-O-Khan and is a member of United Empire.

Career[]

New Japan Pro Wrestling (2015-present)[]

Early career (2015)[]

In high school, Tomoyuki Oka competed in amateur wrestling, and after meeting Bushiroad president Takaaki Kidani in 2013, he was signed to New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). However, due to university studies, Oka began training in 2015 and made his debut on February 25, 2016, in a dark match against Katsuya Kitamura at Lion's Gate Project1, with the match ending in a time limit draw. Oka would continue training with NJPW, facing Kitamura again at Lion's Gate Project3 in another dark match that also ended in a time limit draw.

Young Lion and Excursion (2015-2020)[]

Oka made his televised debut on January 3, 2017, at Big Pro-Wrestling Festival 2017, where he was defeated by his dojo trainer Yuji Nagata. Oka continued to be defeated by Nagata during the Road To The New Beginning 2017 tour, along with losses to Henare and Yoshitatsu. Oka's first victory would occur at the Togi Makabe 20th Anniversary Show, after he defeated Henare by referee stoppage due to Henare suffering an ankle injury.

Oka would be involved in a number of singles, tag, and multi-man matches before teaming with his trainer Yuji Nagata in a losing effort against BULLET CLUB (Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi) at Road To Sakura Genesis 2017 - Night 8. However, Oka & Nagata continued to team, defeating Katsuya Kitamura & Manabu Nakanishi at Lion's Gate Project4. Soon after, Oka formed MONSTER RAGE with Katsuya Kitamura, with the pair making their debut in All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) with a loss to Burning Wild (Jun Akiyama & Takao Omori) at GROWIN' UP Vol.4. MONSTER RAGE would continue to compete throughout the G1 Climax 2017 before suffering a defeat to Hirai Kawato & Hiroyoshi Tenzan at Destruction In Kobe 2017.

In October and December, Oka would compete in the Young Lions Cup 2017, winning three out of his five matches to finish in third with six points. In June, 2018, Oka was sent on his excursion to Revolution Pro Wrestling. On his debut at Strong Style Evolved UK - Night 1, Oka competed under the new ring name Great-O-Kharn, defeating Shota Umino with a Mongolian Chop. Great-O-Kharn would continue on a winning streak before travelling to the United States for The New Beginning In USA 2019 - Night 2, defeating Tracer X, followed by a victory over Harlem Bravado at The New Beginning In USA - Night 3.

Upon his return to Revolution Pro Wrestling, O-Kharn would team with Rampage Brown at Live At The Cockpit 46 to win an Eliminator Match for a RevPro Undisputed British Tag Team Championship opportunity. At Live In Southampton 10, Brown & O-Kharn defeated Dan Magee & Kurtis Chapman to win the vacant Undisputed British Tag Team Championship. After winning the championship, Brown & O-Kharn would join The Legion, before defeating the Moonlight Express (MAO & Mike Bailey) to unify the Undisputed British Tag Team Championship with the SWE Tag Team Championship. Brown & O-Kharn would hold the United British Tag Team Championship for 560 days before the championship was vacated after Brown left for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and O-Kharn returned to Japan.

United Empire (2020-present)[]

Upon his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling, O-Kharn would assist Will Ospreay in defeating Kazuchika Okada. After the match, Ospreay announced that he, O-Kharn, and Bea Priestley would form a new unit known as The Empire. O-Kharn would modify his ring name to Great-O-Khan, before competing in his first match since his return to NJPW at G1 Climax 2020 - Night 19, teaming with stablemate Will Ospreay to defeat CHAOS members Kazuchika Okada & SHO. In November, 2020, Jeff Cobb, joining The Empire in the process, was revealed to be O-Khan's mystery partner for the World Tag League 2020. O-Khan & Cobb would win five out of their nine matches, ending the tournament in seventh with ten points.

At Wrestle Kingdom 15 - Night 1, O-Khan was defeated by Hiroshi Tanahashi. At the The New Beginning In Nagoya, O-Khan would defeat Hiroyoshi Tenzan before attacking Hiroshi Tanahashi at the end of the night following Tanahashi's victory over Shingo Takagi to win the NEVER Openweight Championship. However, Great-O-Khan would fail to capture the NEVER Openweight Championship from Tanahashi at Castle Attack - Night 2. O-Khan then entered the New Japan Cup 2021, securing an upset over Tetsuya Naito in the first round. Despite this, O-Khan was eliminated by Toru Yano in the second round. After the New Japan Cup, O-Khan, along with United Empire, would begin a rivalry with Tetsuya Naito and Los Ingobernables de Japon. At Road To Wrestling Dontaku 2021 - Night 12, Tetsuya Naito defeated O-Khan to end the rivalry.

On July 25, 2021, at Wrestle Grand Slam In Tokyo Dome, Great-O-Khan competed in a New Japan Rambo With Handcuffs Match for the NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling Championship, but failed to win the championship. In September, O-Khan competed in his first G1 Climax, winning four of his nine matches to finish seventh in Block B with eight points. Following the G1 Climax, O-Khan would partner with stablemate Aaron Henare against Toru Yano and a variety of opponents in a number of tag team matches throughout the Road To Power Struggle 2021 tour, before unsuccessfully challenging Yano for the King of Pro-Wrestling Championship in an Amateur Wrestling Rules Match at Power Struggle 2021.

During November and December, O-Khan & Aaron Henare would enter the World Tag League 2021, winning seven of their eleven matches to end the tournament in seventh with fourteen points. At Wrestle Kingdom 16 - Night 1, O-Khan partnered with stablemates Jeff Cobb & Will Ospreay to defeat Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, SANADA & Tetsuya Naito), before suffering a defeat to SANADA on Night 2. In March, 2022, O-Khan participated in the New Japan Cup 2022, advancing to the second round by forfeit due to Kota Ibushi's injuries. O-Khan defeated Taiji Ishimori in the second round to advance to the third round, where he was eliminated by Zack Sabre Jr..

Personal life[]

Outside of professional and amateur wrestling, Oka has also competed in judo, karate, sambo, kickboxing, pankration, jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts.

Oka is also a fan of anime, praising Milky Holmes as his favourite.

On March 29, 2022, in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Oka reportedly single-handedly subdued an intoxicated man who had grabbed a young girl, offering her pancakes afterwards. On April 4, Oka received a letter of appreciation from the Nakahara Police.
