Before professional wrestling, Jie Yin competed in CrossFit, competing in the CrossFit China Open and the Asia CrossFit Championship. Yin is also an indoor rowing champion.

Jie Yin signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) along with Ru Feng and Dante Chen in July, 2021. Yin made her debut under the name of Erica Yan on the November 5, 2021 episode of 205 Live, where she was defeated by Valentina Feroz. Yan competed in her first NXT match on November 9, 2021, but was defeated by Elektra Lopez.
