Enfield is a town in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 44,654 at the 2010 census. It was first settled by colonists in 1679 when inhabitants from Salem moved south west for more fertile land. Near the end of the 18th century it became home to a large Shaker community, a group of celibate people that lived in a commune society which were known for their architecture and craftsmanship. More modern it is the American home to Lego.
