Karissa Rivera is an American female professional wrestler currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on the NXT brand under the ring name Elektra Lopez.
Early life
Rivera holds a bachelor's degree in Global Business. She is a second-generation wrestler as the daughter of Steve King who previously worked under the WWF brand.
Professional wrestling career
Rivera trained under New Jersey pro wrestler Damian Adams, known for training female wrestlers Tasha Steelz and Deonna.
World Wrestling Entertainment
NXT (2018)
Rivera made her debut in 2018 during the November 14 episode of NXT, losing to Lacey Evans.
Main roster (2019)
Rivera returned the following year in 2019 during the April 9 episode of Smackdown Live. During the program she was simply acknowledged as Karissa, competing as one-half of a local tag team combination with Kris Statlander (simply referred to as Kris) as team The Brooklyn Belles. They lost a tag title match against the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions team IIconics. Rivera also appeared as Bobby Lashley's "ex-wife" during an episode of WWE Monday Night RAW.
Ring Of Honor
Karissa has made several appearances for Ring Of Honor including the upset of former women's champion Sumie Sakai.
Independents
Rivera is a regular on the northeast indie scene making appearances for Legendary Action Wrestling (LAW), World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW), Northeast Wrestling, Women's Wrestling Revolution, Outlaw Wrestling NY and others, capturing the WXW-C4 title and the LAW Women's title.
Return to WWE
NXT (2021-present)
It was reported on June 22, 2021 Rivera signed with WWE. She made her NXT debut on the June 22 episode of NXT under the name Elektra Lopez in a match against Franky Monet. She went on to win her next two singles matches during the September episodes of NXT, defeating Anna Scheer and B-FAB, the latter who she defeated in a No Disqualification match.
